The inaugural Melrose Park Christmas Carols proved a big success with over 500 people attending the night.

The event, run by the Melrose Park Community Group, and supported by PAYCE, also included food trucks, an all-important visit from Santa and the showing of the movie Elf.

“It was great to see such a big turn-out from the local community,’’ said Melrose Park resident Danielle Davis.

The night included performances from the Melrose Park Public School, The Dance Hub, St Mary’s Rydalmere and the Parramatta Youth Choir along with the band Smooth Jive Consultants.

“The band, local dance groups, choirs and the Christmas movie were the perfect blend of family entertainment,” said Melrose Park Community Group member Chantel Latu.

The night also raised $500 for the Parramatta Mission.
