12 October 2016 – PAYCE Consolidated Limited today announced that its world-class shopping centre, East Village Victoria Park, has won the Gold Award in the 2016 ICSC Asia Pacific Shopping Center Awards in the category of New Developments under the section of “Design and Development Excellence” at the Shangri-La at Fort in Manila.

The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) annual Asia Pacific Shopping Centre Awards recognize the best retail developments in the Asia-Pacific region for marketing, design and development excellence.

The judging panel incudes leading industry professionals from across the globe.

Situated in Victoria Park at the heart of Zetland, East Village has provided a new community focal point since its opening in October 2014.

East Village was the only finalist from Australia nominated in the “New Developments” category. The judges commended East Village for its innovative features such as exterior and interior architectural design, sustainable initiatives, high performance building envelopes, paperless parking system, as well as extensive recycling and reuse of water.

PAYCE Managing Director Brian Boyd said it was heartening that East Village was recognised at the ICSC Asia Pacific Shopping Centre Awards.

Founded in 1957, ICSC embarked upon the Asia Pacific Awards nine years ago. The coveted awards set a standard of excellence for the Asia Pacific retail real estate industry, recognising and honoring industry practitioners for their outstanding achievements in the design, development and marketing of retail properties in terms of vision, innovation and creativity.
