PAYCE is pleased to announce the completion of the building structure at The Albany, an exciting new residential and retail complex on the corner of Willoughby Road and Albany Street, Crows Nest.

To celebrate the construction milestone, a traditional ‘topping out’ celebration took place on the rooftop of the building today, where a tree was placed at the highest point of the structure.

Attendees at the event included representatives of property company, PAYCE; construction company, Paynter Dixon; Boston Marketing and project workers.

Work is now underway on completing the internal fit-out of the residential residences and preparation of the retail areas.

PAYCE Director, Dominic Sullivan said the day was an important milestone for the project which will feature luxurious living spaces, private rooftop garden retreats and landscaping.

“Early next year there will be a brand new retail village anchored by a full-line Coles supermarket and a public plaza below 60 beautifully-appointed one, two and three-bedroom residences,” he said.

“The majority of the residences have winter gardens with bi-fold windows at the edge of their balconies. The winter gardens provide flexibility to increase the living area or to use the space as a traditional balcony.

An underground car park will accommodate residents’ cars and 200 short-term public spaces for shoppers.

Paynter Dixon CEO, Steve Alley acknowledged the work of the project team and the skilled workers on achieving the construction milestone.

“The weather has generally been very favourable and enabled the construction stage to be completed on schedule,” he said.

“It’s a pleasure to join with PAYCE and their guests today in celebrating the traditional event of ‘topping out’.

Mr Sullivan said The Albany forms the northern gateway to the popular and vibrant Crows Nest village precinct.

“Crows Nest is a welcoming and family-friendly neighbourhood with a great sense of place, where residents enjoy a harmonious lifestyle,” he said.

“The Albany’s new public plaza has been designed to complement the existing streetscape, which offers multicultural cuisine and al fresco dining destinations in and around Willoughby Road.

“The Albany’s location is all about connectivity and walkability with a range of existing and proposed transport options within minutes and shops at the doorstep.
