Leading property developer and investment company, PAYCE, supported 2014 National Youth Week (3-14 April) through the Sutherland Police Citizens Youth Club.

PCYC Sutherland runs a series of programs throughout the year aimed at assisting young people at risk of getting into trouble, as well as assisting disadvantaged youth.

This year PCYC Sutherland opened the week with a special fundraiser to promote community support for its youth programs.

The PCYC erected a portable cell in Peace Park, Sutherland where a number of business and community leaders and celebrities were 'detained' until bail in the form of a donation was received for their release.

PAYCE's Managing Director, Brian Boyd says PCYC Sutherland does fantastic work in the Shire and deserves the full support of the corporate community to help run its important programs.

"It's a great opportunity for businesses to get involved and work in partnership with NSW Police in supporting their local PCYC and its activities," he said.

Broken Hill to Bay leadership program awards successes

To mark the end of Youth Week, the PCYC today presented awards to 12 young people from Broken Hill who have completed various activities in the Sutherland Shire as part of the Broken Hill to Bay leadership program.

The Broken Hill to the Bay program is a partnership between the Barrier Local Area Command, PCYC Broken Hill and PCYC Sutherland - Youth Command to promote teamwork and leadership and crime reduction with young people from the Broken Hill community.

Brian Boyd - All successful companies invests in themselves, it`s part of the growth cycle - the future of community is defined by what you invest now.

PAYCE Project Manager, Chris Ryan today handed over a cheque for $2,500 to the PCYC as its contribution to the fundraiser.

Mr Boyd said PAYCE was only too happy to make a contribution to this year's fundraiser, which raised in excess of $8,000 to help the club run its youth development programs and buy equipment.

"I know that all the funds raised will make a big difference and help the PCYC's programs to be a continuing success story," said Brian Boyd.

The money raised goes directly to programs such as the Broken Hill to the Bay; Footy Fever; and Girls Choice, as well as morning fitness and education sessions.
