The Waterfront

A COMMUNITY MASTERPLAN

The Waterfront on the Homebush Bay peninsula was one of Sydney’s first comprehensive masterplanned communities.

Comprising 1,567 apartments across 18 buildings, the former industrial waterfront site was transformed over a ten-year period, creating the new suburb of Wentworth Point. The project was a joint venture with Japanese developer and builder Sekisui House Australia.

The Waterfront is a vibrant community of over 5,000 residents who enjoy all that waterfront living offers, including cool breezes in summer, strolls along the waterfront promenade and open green spaces.

The Piazza is the focal point for the community with its Mediterranean-inspired marketplace on a cobblestone street, featuring restaurants, a delicatessen, medical and health services and lifestyle businesses.

The Waterfront was named 2006 winner in the UDIA Awards for Excellence in Masterplanned Mixed-Use Development and winner in the 2007 Urban Taskforce Awards for Excellence in Residential Design.
