From January 2015, the two-car Volvo S60 - GRM team will be known as Wilson Security Racing GRM.

With PAYCE joining Wilson Security and Valvoline on the panels of the Polestar Volvo S60 V8 Supercars in 2015, opportunities beyond the race track are already being actively discussed.


Polestar Volvo and GRM under starters orders ...

Polestar entered the Australian championship in conjunction with Volvo at the beginning of the 2014 season, supplying engines to factory backed outfit Garry Rogers Motorsport.

With Polestar's B8444S engine proving to be an immediate pace-setter, signs are hopeful that Volvo Polestar Racing can challenge for the championship in 2015.

While Matt Braid, the architect of the Volvo V8 Supercars program, enjoyed his final public outing with Volvo at Bathurst, his replacement on the Volvo team, Kevin McCann, made a brief appearance. Recent changes within Volvo may see more S60s on the grid.


The V8 Supercar Championships 2015 – a new hope ...

From January 2015, the two-car Volvo S60 - GRM team will be known as Wilson Security Racing GRM.

"2014 has been a year of great change at GRM with our partnership with Volvo and Polestar," team boss Garry Rogers said.

"2015 is a new chapter and we certainly welcome Wilson Security and PAYCE in joining Valvoline at GRM, all tremendous supporters of Australian motorsport, we are proud to represent such iconic brands."

With PAYCE joining Wilson Security and Valvoline on the panels of the Volvo S60 V8 Supercars in 2015, opportunities beyond the race track are already being actively discussed with Volvo Car Australia.

All parties are referring to the sponsorship as an "innovative commercial relationship", as the groups canvass for opportunities to leverage their relationship beyond sponsoring the Volvo S60 V8 Supercars in the 2015 championship.

Synergies between brands in motor racing are often spoken of, but this partnership has everyone very excited by the opportunities, after all, how often do you get to partner with a global luxury car manufacturer.


At GRM - The season that was ...

The GRM team have had a challenging year, with two Volvo S60s running without panel sponsors, The Polestar B8444S engine is proving an immediate pace-setter, winning the team two races and scoring seven pole positions this year to date."We have been working on building a strong business," - said Garry Rogers.

With Scott McLaughlin again leading the GRM team in 2015, and Swedish driver Robert Dahlgren not likely to return to the Volvo second seat, there has been increasing speculation over who will join McLaughlin in the number two seat.

With the Volvo driver line-up remaining one of the key unknowns, David Wall emerged as a strong contender for the second seat at Volvo Polestar.


Wall, as ever, has been refining his craft, working with British GT racer Tim Sugden in the UK . "I've always been keen to do something like that, to turn up at a race track I'd never seen before and basically jump in and have Tim critique my style.

I definitely learnt some things that I brought back with me and I'm working on making those parts of my driving better for sure."

This year will be Wall's fourth year in the V8 Supercars Championship, having run under the Wilson/PAYCE colours at Dick Johnson Racing for three seasons and previously with Brad Jones Racing.

PAYCE has signed a sponsorship deal for the next two seasons of the V8 Supercars Championship with this year's high-performing Volvo Polestar Racing team


David Wall selected for second Volvo team position

Also joining the team as the driver of the second Volvo S60 will be multi-talented driver, David Wall, who continues a long association with PAYCE.

Scott McLaughlin again leading the Volvo team in 2015, and with Swedish driver Robert Dahlgren continuing to endure a difficult year and not likely to return to the Volvo team, there has been increasing speculation over who would join Scot McLaughlin in the number two seat in the Volvo team.

David Wall emerged as a strong contender for the second seat at Volvo Polestar Racing.

31-year-old Wall, has enjoyed substantial long-time backing from Wilson Security and PAYCE Consolidated Pty Limited.

This year marks Wall's third year in the V8 Supercars Championship, having run under the Wilson/PAYCE colours at Brad Jones Racing for the two previous seasons.

The Melbourne-based team comprises some of the country's best talent, led by owner and retired touring car champion, Garry Rogers and current lead driver, Scott McLaughlin in car #33.

Brian Boyd said he was very impressed with the team's achievements in its relative short time together.

"Despite the Volvo Polestar GRM team only joining the V8 Supercars category this year, the team has exceeded all expectations with its initial win at the Australian Grand Prix support event earlier this year and more through the year," he said.

Brian Boyd said the Garry Rogers Motorsport team possessed a wealth of experience spanning five decades, over which time they have won most major races in the country, including the Bathurst 1000.
