Melrose Park

The new heart of Sydney…

Melrose Park is a major urban renewal project six kilometres from the Parramatta CBD in the geographical heart of Sydney.

PAYCE was responsible for delivering the new masterplan for Australia’s most exciting new urban precinct.

Melrose Park is one of the new major precincts to achieve the 30-minute city status. That means it will be within 30 minutes of key employment areas, education and other key services, including recreational and community facilities.

The $6 billion project covering 30 hectares will include around 6,000 new apartments, a town centre and retail village, community amenities and significant parklands.

Melrose Park will create 10,000 jobs in construction and create more than 1,500 permanent new jobs.

New and expanded transport links are planned, including free shuttle buses to train and ferry services, a rapid Metro bus service to Parramatta CBD and Sydney CBD and a Parramatta Light Rail stop, connecting to the West Metro rail.

Melrose Park will be Parramatta’s first Smart City, an urban renewal that will be both efficient and responsive to the new community’s needs.

Smart City technology will be fully integrated within the project and will make Melrose Park a more sustainable and social place to live, work and play.

PAYCE and the City of Parramatta Council together as partners have been awarded the Department of Industry, Innovation & Science, Smart Cities and Suburbs Grant by the Federal Government. The Grant will assist in making the Smart City vision a reality at Melrose Park.
